Archiving Policy

Catalyst: Journal of Transformative Education, published by Luminary Global Education, is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. This Archiving Policy ensures that scholarly articles remain permanently available to readers, researchers, and institutions, even in the event of journal discontinuation or technical failure.

1. Digital Preservation

Catalyst: Journal of Transformative Education employs multiple digital preservation strategies to safeguard the integrity and availability of its published content. The journal is committed to ensuring that all published articles are archived in reliable and recognized digital preservation systems.

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform — developed and maintained by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) — which provides built-in preservation infrastructure through PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). PKP PN is a free preservation service for OJS journals that deposits journal content into the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) network, ensuring distributed and redundant digital preservation.

2. Archiving Systems and Networks

Catalyst: Journal of Transformative Education archives its published content through the following systems:

a. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) The journal participates in the PKP PN, which automatically deposits published issues into a distributed preservation network based on LOCKSS technology. This ensures that multiple preserved copies are maintained across geographically distributed nodes.

b. LOCKSS LOCKSS is an international community initiative that provides libraries and publishers with open-source tools to preserve and provide access to digital content. Participating libraries collect, preserve, and provide reader access to preserved content.

c. Google Scholar All published articles are indexed in Google Scholar, which facilitates long-term discoverability and accessibility of the journal's content.

d. Institutional and Author Self-Archiving Authors are encouraged to self-archive the final published version (Version of Record) of their articles in institutional repositories, personal academic profiles (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu), or national repositories, in accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy.

3. Open Access and Perpetual Access

Catalyst: Journal of Transformative Education operates under a full Open Access model. All published content is freely available online without subscription or paywall. Readers are granted perpetual access to all published issues through the journal's official website: ???? https://ojs.luminaryedu.org/index.php/Catalyst

In the event of journal closure or technical disruption, preserved content will remain accessible through the archiving networks described in Section 2 above.

4. Metadata Preservation

The journal ensures that all article metadata — including titles, abstracts, author information, keywords, and citation data — is preserved and remains accessible through indexing databases and archiving systems. Metadata is shared in standard interoperable formats (e.g., Dublin Core, OAI-PMH) to facilitate long-term discoverability.

5. Backup and Data Integrity

The journal's editorial and publishing data are regularly backed up to prevent data loss. The OJS platform provides system-level backup mechanisms, and the publisher — Luminary Global Education — maintains additional backup procedures to protect the journal's content and submission records.

6. Responsibilities

The Editor-in-Chief and Publisher (Luminary Global Education) are jointly responsible for ensuring the implementation of this archiving policy. Any changes to archiving arrangements will be communicated transparently to authors, readers, and the academic community through the journal's official website.
